GOD’S GREETING

SONG OF PRAISE
(#46C) Psalm 46: “God Is Our Refuge and Our Strength”

READING OF THE LAW

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Most merciful heavenly Father: We confess that we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed. We have sinned by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart; we have not loved our neighbors as ourselves. We are truly sorry, and we humbly repent. For the sake of your Son Jesus Christ, have mercy on us and forgive us. May your Spirit help us to delight in your will and walk in your ways, to the glory of your name. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.
(Followed by silent confession)

ASSURANCE OF PARDON

DOXOLOGY
Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise him all creatures here below. Praise him above ye heavenly hosts. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

CONFESSION OF FAITH
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
