GOD’S GREETING

SONG OF PRAISE
(#22C) Psalm 22: “Amid the Thronging Worshipers”

READING OF THE LAW

PRAYER OF CONFESSION
Our Father in heaven, we have heard your law and we delight in it, for we know that it is good, holy, and true. Yet, Lord, we also know that we have not kept these things perfectly. The pollution of sin still clings to us. We were conceived and brought forth in iniquity, and our sin is ever before us. We have sinned against you and offended you in thought, word, and deed, by what we have done and by what we have left undone. We ask for your forgiveness. Have mercy on us according to your steadfast love and abundant mercy. Create in us a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. Restore to us the joy of your salvation that comes to us through Jesus Christ our Lord. In this time of silent confession, we bring you our particular sins. (Followed by silent confession)

 ASSURANCE OF PARDON

DOXOLOGY
Praise God from whom all blessings flow. Praise him all creatures here below. Praise him above ye heavenly hosts. Praise Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Amen.

CONFESSION OF FAITH
The Apostles’ Creed
I believe in God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, his only begotten Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary; suffered under Pontius Pilate; was crucified, dead, and buried; he descended into hell; the third day he rose again from the dead; he ascended into heaven, and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from there he shall come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit; the holy catholic church; the communion of saints; the forgiveness of sins; the resurrection of the body; and the life everlasting. Amen.
