Darryl Hart to lecture at CURC this Sunday

Historian and author Dr. D.G. Hart will give a lecture on J. Gresham Machen in adult Sunday school on January 16. Dr. Hart is a noted scholar on J. Gresham Machen and American Presbyterianism and has taught church history at Westminster Theological Seminary in Philadelphia and Westminster Seminary California. He has written numerous books, including: Defending the Faith: J. Gresham Machen and the Crisis of Conservative Protestantism in Modern America (1994) With Reverence and Awe: Returning to the Basics of Reformed Worship (2002) Recovering Mother Kirk: The Case for Liturgy in the Reformed Tradition (2003) The Lost Soul of American Protestantism (2004) Deconstructing Evangelicalism: Conservative Protestantism in the Age of Billy Graham (2005) A Secular Faith: Why Christianity Favors the Separation of Church and State (2006)

Dr. Hart holds degrees from Temple University, Westminster Seminary, Harvard University, and John Hopkins University. He is an elder in the Orthodox Presbyterian Church (OPC).
